The deadline to submit proposals was January 8.
The TIE Conference has gained a reputation of having the best classroom teachers, network administrators and educational administrators share their strategies, methods and best practices with their fellow educators at the largest education technology conference in South Dakota. Over the past 29 years, TIE has evolved from being the forerunner in sharing technology innovations with educators to the current needs of technology integration, curriculum mandates, improved student achievement and effective assessment and evaluation.
A session may be presented by any number of people, but only the main presenter and one co-presenter will receive complimentary conference registration (which will be forfeited if they both do not present). Only the main presenter will receive a honorarium of $300 per in-depth session/$100 per breakout session. Honorariums are available to classroom teachers, not organizations that may financially benefit from promoting their services.
The main presenter and first co-presenter will automatically be registered for Monday and Tuesday of the conference when their proposal is accepted. Sunday in-depth session fees are not complimentary and must be registered for by contacting the registrar at (605) 721-4491 or email@example.com.
Any additional co-presenters must register and pay for the conference as a regular attendee.
Any individual in a position to gain monetarily either directly or indirectly for a product they endorse is considered a vendor. Vendors must have a booth in the exhibit hall before their proposal can be submitted for consideration. Vendors will not receive an honorarium. They and are strongly encouraged to team up with a local K-12 teacher for better likelihood of acceptance (who would be eligible to receive an honorarium if listed as the main presenter).
Types Of Sessions
Pre-conference In-depth Workshops are 4 hours in length. They will be held at the convention center and the attached Sheraton hotel (additional locations TBD) Sunday, April 10 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
Notification Of Acceptance And Next Steps
Notification of acceptance (or non-acceptance) will be emailed to the main presenter in early February at the email address provided on the application form.
